Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is a non-profit non-governmental organization responsible to conducting crash tests on a variety of vehicles entering the market.  It’s important to note that this organization is funded by insurance companies and NOT associated with a government agency called National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which also conducts crash tests.
